two in the mornin and the party's still jumpin cause my mama ain't home

My sincerest apologies to the faithful readers that frequent this blog. This update should have happened days ago, and I am literally beside myself with apprehension about the fact that I might have lost readers due to my own procrastination and inexcusable laziness. Faithful readers, please do not turn on me.

So. What has happened in rear land?

We made contact with the next door neighbors! Right now you might be asking yourselves, "good God, they didn't befriend the people with the dogs that attacked Lindsay did they??!" Wow, thanks everyone for the concern, but no, we did not make friends with the dog-attacking people. That would never happen. EVER.

We made friends with the boys/men in the apartment next door. Here is what happened:

The apartment next door to ours has a window that faces directly into our window. The only part of their apartment that we can see is when they are going into their fridge or up and down the entry way stairs. The only part of out apartment that they can see is the couch in the living room. A few days ago Adrienne and I left these boys a note that said this:

Boys,
Hope your weekend was fun-filled and fantastic!
Love,
Us

We folded this note, drew a flower on it, and wrote SWAK on the front. We then stuffed it into their mailbox.

A few days later, Maryam arrived at home to find a note taped to our door. This note read:

To the girls that see us in our boxers every day,
You are cordially invited to come over anytime that you hear the music playing and multiple people drinking. However, leave the hooded sweatshirts and laptops at home.
From,
The Young Urban Professionals Next Door

There are numerous things that I could say about this note. Where to begin?

First of all, who the hell do these guys think that they are? Giving us directions on how to act when we come over to their apartment? Dude, who even said that we wanted to go over there? These dudes are mad conceited; they can't even comprehend the fact that we might not even want to hang out with them. We are extremely busy AND important. I have so many friends that I can't even count them. Don't try to ask me to count them, I just won't be able to. And, when did hooded sweatshirts go out of style? AND what's their beef with our form of technology? I mean, really, who do these dudes think that they are?????

Whatever. I am so over them.

And by over them, I meant that I am buying an entirely new wardrobe and forgoing the laptop in favor of the typewriter IMMEDIATELY. Next time I hear the music and see the people, I am so there! Watch out boys! Holler!

What else is new?

I received a package this week! It was my first time getting a package in the rear! It was so great! It had seashells and coral and sponges in it. Plus a letter! How lucky can I get??!?!

I can't really think of other things that happened right now. I will try to update again soon. Before I go, a quick conversation:

L-"Maryam, you really need to do something about your alarm. It went off six times this morning. Adrienne and I both counted."
M-"You need to stop accusing me of stuff. Lay off, my alarm didn't go off once today."
L-"We both heard it. Six times. Maryam, it's so annoying."
M-"Lindsay, I'm telling you, it never went off."
L-"Then how did you manage to get up?"
M-"Well, I mean it went off once. That was it."
L-"Once? I heard it! SIX times!"
M-"What do you want me to say? That it went off six times? Ok, fine, it did. Are you happy now?"
L-"Yes, I am, thank you for telling the truth."
M-"It's not the truth! It went off three times, four at the most!"
L-(mutters to herself) "When are you going to stop lying to yourself?"
M-"Go back down to the basement. No one wants you up here."

Ok! Bye guys! Have a great week! I'm lovin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey girllz - good to see your blog again. What's up with that one dude who was calling me a clown? I hope that wasn't one of you or one of your friends. And I ain't lying about being at Graceland. Maybe it wasn't five times but maybe only two. I bought me a Elvis bobblehead and a life size cardboard cut out from his Vegas days. I got lots of favorite Elvis songs - you girllz didn't say wheteher you big Elvis fans or not - if you is maybe I can send up my Elvis bobblehead. You seriously in Chicago like that dumb person said? Man that is cool - I ain't never been to Chicago but wasn't last year or maybe two years ago when the Cubs won the world series? That must been fun. Those guys you talked about that live next door they in a band or somethin. You said they call themselves "The Young Urban Professionals". That is a pretty cool name for a band. What kind of music they play like bluegrass or something. I like that almost as much as Elvis but y'all know Elvis is still my favoite. I still listen to my Elvis 8 tracks. You know 8 tracks are hard to find here in Kentucky. You girllz know if there some good 8 track stores up there in Chicago. If there is I might have to try to hitch a ride up there. Later ladies, I don't want to be late for my job over at the Denny's. Been there 6 months and already been named employee of the month once. If I get another one before the year ends I get a $15 bonus. I could sure use that.

Sally, I think you meant to say... "I know that because I actually am friends with all of them, and I'm not some creepy pervert that stalks THEIR blog" (not 'there' blog). Maybe you should check out the following website: www.ineedtolearnsimplegrammar.com

Skyscraper Sally you sound like you may need some anger management courses in addition to that grammar web site. Railroad Randy sounds like a pretty nice guy - maybe a little slow but why do you call him a creepy pervert? That's an awful lot of hate coming from a Sears Tower lady.
